reflection and exploration

About

The APIDA Community Circle is a series of workshop sessions aimed at providing a space for APIDA female-identifying and non-binary folks to build community through reflective writing and group conversation around issues related to the APIDA experience.

Testimonies

I found a community of APIDA folks that I could relate to and learn from. I always walked away from each session feeling more at ease, which is just what I needed during these isolating times. Sandy and Casie take care to craft a safe space for everyone to tell their story so we can all heal, one session at a time. Jen L.It was so heart-warming to meet and talk to fellow APIDA writers, especially during these socially challenging pandemic times! I felt really safe and welcomed in this space to share my honest thoughts and feelings. Casie and Sandy are warm and encouraging facilitators who made the space fun and affirming to participate in. I really appreciate that the workshops centered healing and community-building--this was a space that I didn't know I needed! Maggie L.

Facilitators

Casie (she/they) and Sandy (she/they) met in a play where Casie played Sandy's mom. They are storytellers, performers, musicians, facilitators, and producers based in Austin, Tx. In their work, they hope to provide APIDA communities tools for connection, healing, and advocacy.
